About Us

Trained as an illustrator at Sunderland College of Art. She then obtained her Art Teacher's qualification from Birmingham University. After working at a number of upper schools in Bedfordshire she left her position as Head of Faculty for the Creative Arts to run a Crafts Centre. More recently Sally and her painter husband Roy moved to Suffolk to enable her to have access to the Gainsborough's House Print Workshop where she makes her prints. Sally Freer's Monoprints are created as remembered impressions caught during walks through the Suffolk and Essex countryside. The images are concerned with intervals of mood of the moment, light and visual sensation translated through overlays of different colours for each monoprint. Sally Freer's work is held in collections including the Palace of Westminster Collection, Birmingham University, Bedford County Council as well as many collectors in the UK and abroad.
